Call for help.

A Family Christmas vacation has turned to tragedy for the Spell family.

As many reading this page are aware, in December 2006 Kirk Spell of the Black Hills Scottish Athletes Association, was the victim of a horrible surfing accident while on Christmas  vacation in Hawaii. Two vertebrae in his neck were badly dislocated, compressing his spinal cord, and causing paralysis from approximately mid chest down.  Kirk is currently in intensive care in the Queen's Medical Center  in Honolulu.

As anybody that has gone through this sort of family tragedy is aware, the expenses involved with any sort of hospitalization can be enormous, and insurance simply does not cover everything.  In addition, Kirk's wife Molly and son Livi are facing the expenses of living abroad in Hawaii while Kirk undergoes medical treatment, furthering the financial strain of the situation.

To help with these expenses, we have set up the Kirk Spell Family Relief fund.  The funds raised through this effort will be distributed to the Spell family directly to help with medical and living expenses, and to assist in any way possible in the recovery process for Kirk.

Kirk, and Molly both are a huge part of the Scottish Highland athlete family, as well as the Black Hills Celtic community. His efforts have made him a key leader in the Celtic community, as a well as a friend to many.
