Celts of America Grant and Scholarship guidelines
Celts of America is dedicated to presenting, promoting, and preserving
Celtic culture. Our goal is to educate the public about the heritage, language,
traditions, art, and history of the Celtic people both ancient and modern,
and especially concentrate our efforts on those of Celtic decent within
the USA and Canada. Each year we grant thousands of dollars to organizations
wishing to participate in our grant programs.
GRANTS
COA offers grants to help museums, libraries, heritage and historical
organizations, or community organizations of Celtic interest. Generally,
these grants are given in order to promote and develop new public awareness,
for humanities projects, and to charter local events of Celtic heritage
interests. In addition we also have “chapter grants" available for
those local organizations interested in starting a local chapter of Celts
of America.
The new guidelines for our grant programs will be available in early
2007. In the interim, the guidelines below can be used for reference, but
should NOT be used to prepare an application.
In the meantime, you can start on your application by registering with
Celts of America.
Starting in August 2006, all institutions applying for an COA grant
must meet the following requirements:
1. The institution or organization applying for a grant must have a
federal tax I.D. number.
2. Applications will only be considered for organizations or institutions,
who have applied for Chapter standing, or are already a chapter in good
standings.
3. A grant request can only be made by a organization's officials (i.e.,
president or vice president).
4. Organizations may be funded only once in a 12-month period, and
grants will be made for no more than one year at a time. No grants will
be made to current grantees until their final report has been received.
